The W3CE-2026 Conference is an international platform for discussing challenges related to water management, the impacts of Climate Change, and the Circular Economy.

Organized within the framework of the scientific partnership between the Fonds de Recherche du Québec (FRQ) and the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), and marking the first anniversary of the ECOMAT Academic and Industrial Chair, this event will bring together a diverse group of researchers, experts, public decision-makers, industry professionals, and socio-economic stakeholders. It will provide a space for reflection and dialogue designed to compare analyses, innovations, and feedback from Morocco, the Mediterranean region, and other semi-arid zones. The objective is to identify operational guidelines to strengthen the resilience and responsibility of territories facing contemporary environmental challenges.

This event aims to:

  • Highlight the scientific and technological results of the Fonds de Recherche du Québec FRQ - CNRST project and the ECOMAT Chair.
  • Promote innovative, sustainable, and integrated solutions for water resource management in the face of climate change impacts.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary reflection integrating science and technology, management sciences, economic sciences, legal sciences, and social sciences.
  • Strengthen international cooperation, develop doctoral training, and deepen institutional and scientific partnerships.
  • Support the formulation of resilient public policies and territorial strategies.

Through conferences, round tables, and exchange sessions, the conference will enable an integrated examination of issues related to water, climate change, and the circular economy, analyzing how climate pressures transform the availability and quality of water resources, and how circular approaches can strengthen their sustainable management.

The conference proceedings will be published, and a selection of the best articles will be proposed for a special edition in an indexed journal.

Conference Objectives :

  • Explore how circular water management can contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
  • Identify and promote concrete and innovative solutions for building sustainable and resilient enterprises.
  • Articulate scientific approaches, public policies, and economic dynamics to convert water-related challenges into opportunities for development and innovation.
  • Encourage researchers, decision-makers, and socio-economic stakeholders to adopt an integrated and circular approach.
  • Examine how circular economy principles can mitigate climate effects on water systems (reuse, valorization, optimization).
  • Support the creation of green start-ups and sustainable technological solutions.
